Bio: Nathalie Vogel
Nathalie Vogel is a graduate of the Institute of Political Sciences of the University of Innsbruck, Austria. She taught international relations at the University of Bonn, Germany. She has served as a project officer and consultant for youth and civil society at the NATO Office in Moscow where she conducted the information operation โNATO-Russia Rallyโ in 2006.
As a specialist in info-warfare, Nathalie has been monitoring influence operations in Germany since 2007 and advises lawmakers and think tanks. She is a reserve officer in the German AF.
From 2013-2015, Nathalie worked at the George P. Shultz National Foreign Affairs Training Center and joined the Kosciuszko Chair of Polish Studies at The Institute of World Politics, where she conducted research work on Cossack military history.
Nathalie Vogel joined the Prague-based European Values Center for Security Policy in 2016. Her portfolio included the monitoring of hostile Chinese and Russian influence and disinformation campaigns in the German language info-space, the development of teaching modules in information warfare, and the briefing of allied governments, international organizations, and NGOs. She was also in charge of internal security, including the investigation of cyber incidents.
Since 2019, Nathalie has been conducting successful advocacy campaigns against prominent cases of Russian lawfare involving abusive red notices and arrest warrants.
Nathalie Vogelโs analyses on hybrid warfare, lawfare, and intelligence operations appear in U.S., French, German, Austrian, and Czech media. She is also a regular contributor to Voice of America Russian Service.
The Institute of World Politics is honoured to have Nathalie with them as a research fellow at their Centre for Intermarium Studies.
Nathalie Vogel is of Zaporozhian Kuban Cossack extraction. Until 2016, she was the Secretary of the Cossack Congress of America.
