Transnistria has already prepared an appeal to Putin for May 2
Update on Moldova
Moldova continues to be a target and Russia is following an identical playbook as they did with Ukraine but in a much shorter time. This is something that we need to pay very close attention to. The following are the latest updates:
Sources of the British edition of The Times in Ukrainian intelligence claim that Russia has developed clear plans for the invasion of Moldova.
“We believe that the Kremlin has already decided to attack Moldova. What the events in Moldova will lead to will be decisive for us. If the Russians manage to seize control of the country, then we (Ukraine - ed.) will become more vulnerable from a military point of view - this will be a threat to the integrity of Ukraine. If Russia recognizes the independence of Transnistria, then this will be a direct threat and violation of the territorial integrity of Moldova. This will be a repetition of the "Donbas scenario". Then they will supply a large number of weapons, and then they will want to attach it to the composition of Russia, ”the newspaper writes.
It is believed that Russian special services are considering the possibility of escalating unrest and riots in the country. Ukrainian intelligence noted some activity at the airfield in Tiraspol, Transnistria.
Russian military plans may attempt to carry out an airborne landing on Il-76 transport aircraft and helicopters in Transnistria. Allegedly, planes and helicopters will fly from an airfield in occupied Crimea.
“At the same time, the authors of the publication note that these claims are contrary to the analysis of Western intelligence agencies, that the Russians do not have sufficient capabilities to safely fly over the Ukrainian air defenses in the Odesa region. In addition, in order to supply ammunition and strengthen units, the Russians need to create a land “corridor” from the captured Kherson through the Mykolaiv and Odesa regions, being attacked by Ukrainian forces.”
Ukraine’s Intelligence Directorate warning:
According to intelligence, this is the main article of the newspaper - "The official appeal of the inhabitants of the PMR to the President of the Russian Federation Putin."
The text asks "to involve the armed forces of the PMR in the actions of the Russian army." To do this, mobilization points are being opened on the territory of the Russian Federation itself to recruit volunteers to fight in the army of Transnistria.
Thus, the Kremlin is trying to legalize thousands of its military, who will provoke from the territory of the "MRT".
The newspaper also contains a number of propaganda materials about "the bloody terrorist attacks that fell on Pridnestrovians on the May holidays, dozens of people were killed, including children, the elderly and women." Since the newspaper was printed just before the holidays, there is a danger that the Kremlin authorities are planning to carry out a series of acts of intimidation among the local population, for which "Ukraine and the collective West" will traditionally be held responsible.
The texts of the newspaper are filled with Kremlin clichés: "Pridnestrovians no longer have the opportunity to avoid a big war. Kyiv and its NATO curators have passed their verdict, and have already coordinated all their actions with Chisinau and Bucharest." The authors of the newspaper connect all their hopes with "opposition to fraternal Russia." via Ukrainian Pravda
My warning from a week ago…
Not good news, but I’ll stay hopeful for now that Moldova is prepared.
