Obviously introducing this so early in the session, when folks are paying attention to the “news” that tRUmp makes daily, Rep. Ogles feels that it will get lost in the mainstream news, if we even have it anymore. Another thing to add to the list to pay attention to, but not let them use as a distraction.

It's a mistake to refer to the statements of fascists, or their efforts to dismantle democracy, as 'extreme', in the sense that horrific bigotry, calls for violence, disregard for the rule of law, and contempt for democratic norms and institutions, are each fundamental to the fascist worldview.

What we are witnessing is neither fringe nor unusual for the fascist crowd in the US- the rank and file GOP voter. It's who they are.

None of us should think for a moment that any of this originated with Trump. He is nothing more than a prop, a totem for the fascist crowd to give themselves permission to fulfill their wishes and advance their priorities.

The power of a fascist regime rests with the fascist crowd, not the figurehead. He is a product their whims, a creature of their making. The individual GOP voter has not been duped, none can plausibly claim 'other reasons' for aligning with the fascist regime. They have been working tirelessly for decades at every level of government, in every community, to construct it.

The fascist capture of of our society began long before Trump was introduced to the public, and the fascists intend to hold us all hostage in their apartheid state long after he is gone.

They, not him, are the real threat, and always have been. No fascist regime can exist with the millions who enthusiastically support it, maintain it, and are willing to perpetrate its atrocities.

To get a sense of what we are likely in for, study up on the 36 years of life in Spain under the Franco regime, an ally of Hitler, who remained in power for three decades after the Axis was defeated.

Maybe more Americans are starting to wake up to this ugly reality, but a little late to prevent it.

Another waste of time and taxpayer money. It would require a 2/3 vote in the Congress, and 3/4 of the States. In the words of that late conservative John Wayne, “Mister, do you know the meaning of fat chance?’”

Trump isn’t going to live forever, he’s old and has definite dementia as well as being drug addled: if he is still here in body by 2029, he won’t be in mind. Dementia does not improve with age.

This is similar to what Putin did.

Similar but not identical. Because instead of limiting to 3 terms, Putin extended one term to 6 years and annulated his first 4 terms as “before the changes made”. The new terms of Putin — after amending the Russian constitution in 2020 — began counting all over again.

2000-2004, 2004-2008, 2012-2018, 2018-2024 — were equated to Zero. Putin’s first term is now 2024-2030, the second is 2030-2036.

Trump can do the same annulation so his:

- first term will be 2029-2033,

- second 2033-2037,

- third 2037-2041.

Of course, in those periods, Trump will have plenty of time for destroying any elections everywhere, especially by joining forces with Xi and Putin.

Like being in such dictatorship?

Take your individual target and team up with others interested in it I am most worried about $Trump cryptocurrency as it’s an anonymous, hard to trace personal bank for buying favors. Pakistan wants us to lean on India? A couple of billion in the t-Bank from Pakistan, the us will slap India around. That’s my pick. Follow Democracy Index and sigh on for watches.
