Please do not say the USA when you mean trump . We are not interchangeable with him. I I know there are still stalwart maga types out there. And they are with trump.

But many of us are not.

Respectfully, it doesn’t matter. Trump leads the government. USA stands for whatever he says it stands for, until Congress or the courts tell him otherwise.

I agree but I also know that the language we use conveys meaning to those paying less attention. Clearly putting the ownership for this 💩 on the instigators is very helpful in countering the lying propaganda that so many are swimming in every day. Not everyone has the capacity to recognize a snake oil salesman when confronted with one.

"For more than a decade, I’ve warned that Georgia was only the beginning. After Russia invaded Georgia in 2008, Ukraine was next—and the pattern has never been subtle. Russia’s bloody imperial appetite stretches far beyond its current borders, driven by a desire to resurrect the Soviet sphere of influence and dominate its neighbors through force. If Ukraine falls, the Kremlin will not stop there."

This has always been Putin's plan. And now, with a multifaceted covert campaign, Putin has decapitated his primary enemy: the United States.

Ukraine and Europe need to cut the US loose as fast as possible. There are probably ways to do it that Trump will not even recognize. He is not the swiftest person on the block. At this point NATO would be better off with the US on its own than as part of NATO. When you have a snake in the basket there is a risk it will strike you. That is who Donald Trump is in NATO.

Martin Belderson gives me hope because he points out what an amazing job Ukraine is doing with what they have. They seem to be the. worlds innovators when it comes to drones. https://underreported.substack.com

Right now I am in Germany, and expecting Merz to be appointed chancellor on May 6. After that, I hope Germany can play a more active role in supporting Ukraine. Trump seems to be using tariffs to manipulate the EU countries to get them to bend to his will. This alone should show that doing business with Trump is bad business. Germany needs to get off of its Auto industry dependance, and not switch to full time war production like Russia, but to learn to diversify with an eye to the climate and the future.

In the meantime, Trump is furthering the Christian Nationalist White Supremacist agenda of turning the US into a CN Theocracy. See the "white" baby making plans, even though it does not say, White, that is what it is.

Pam Bondi is furthering this with her anti-Christian Bias BS. People should be fighting against this tooth and nail. It is the worst part of Project 2025 is turning the US like Iran.

Gee! Trump is brilliant!

I wonder why FDR and Churchill didn't come up with proposing to Hitler that he keep the territory he already conquered, including France.

And that goes for Stalin too. What an idiot! He could have brought peace to the world by acknowledging that Hitler keep the western half of Russia that he already conquered.

Trump really scored big-time by gifting Ukraine to Russia the way Neville Chamberlain gifted the Sudetenland region of Czechoslovakia to Hitler, exclaiming "Peace in our time !".

But we're really giving too much credit to Trump. Trump isn't handing over Ukraine to Russia because it will bring peace in our time. That's too noble a reason, as idiotic as it is.

Trump's reason has nothing to do with geo-politics, the balance of power, or other political theories or strategies. Trump is handing over Ukraine as an act of pure revenge in retaliation for Zelensky's refusal to falsely declare that Hunter Biden was under investigation. It's pay-back time!

This isn't political. This is personal.

Well said.

According to the NY times, President Zelenskyy's reply to Trump/Vance: “There is nothing to talk about,” Mr. Zelensky said. “This violated our Constitution. This is our territory, the territory of Ukraine.”

Mr. Trump shot back on social media that the Ukrainian president was being “inflammatory” and said he would only “prolong the ‘killing field.’”

Donald is right. Zelenskyy just told him politely to "FUCK OFF!" Hopefully, the Greatest appeaser of all time will "walk away" his ap"peace"ment process and NATO so Europe, Britain and Canada can freely support Ukraine and assure its future membership in NATO.

Thank you for your writing. I hate what the United State has become under this regime. Putin is a sociopath, who desperately wants to put the Soviet Union back together.

President Zelensky is a true hero and everything they could never be.

Is it even possible that Putin could be bluffing? The little bully that is losing, and so bloviates and threatens to get his way? The felon wants to end the war because he wants to look good? Ukraine persists in being Ukraine. So Putin threatens in order to scare Europe into submission? I have no idea, it just seems like such a typical attempt by a losing murderous bully.

Presumably a large portion of the 4,000 tanks were refitted out of storage. I can’t believe Russia actually built that many. Assuming the number is correct.

On August 2, 2017, Trump signed a law known as CAATSA. This law made it illegal for the United States to recognize Crimea as russian territory. It also gave sanctions revoking power to Congress. The president of the United States can't legally revoke sanctions placed on russia after 2014.

None of this will stop him. But it does make crystal clear that his plan is illegal.
