Russia Demands USAID List and Peddles Another Conspiracy
Russia’s Conspiracy Theory
Since the election, Russia has been obsessed with last year's assassination attempts on Trump—with "concerns" repeatedly voiced at the highest levels by Putin, former FSB chief Patrushev, and Dmitry Medvedev. Today, Russian Senator Pushkov peddled a new, absurd conspiracy theory, and I wanted to document it to see if similar narratives will emerge in the U.S.
According to Pushkov, an unnamed informant has ‘provided’ details that U.S. political figures were involved in a covert plot against Trump. Pushkov claims that elements of the Biden administration, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, former FBI Director Christopher Wray, and even Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner Christopher Paris coordinated an assassination attempt on Trump in July 2024—and that key members of the Biden administration actively blocked efforts to alert the Secret Service and the FBI.
Although this disinformation is utterly insane, it’s worth keeping an eye to see whether this disinformation will be picked up by far-right accounts, Elon Musk, and other US propagandists. I also want to see if this is a deliberate effort to lay the groundwork for coordinated disinformation that could set the stage for Trump's retribution against his perceived “enemies,”— especially amid Trump and Musk's attacks on the opposition and moves to gut U.S. agencies.
Russia Demands Congress Deliver USAID list
In other ludicrous news, Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin has demanded that the U.S. Congress disclose the names of individuals and groups that have received USAID funding in Russia—so that these lists can be handed over to the FSB, Russia’s brutal security services. Since Soviet times, USAID has been one of Russia’s biggest targets because it defends human rights, supports humanitarian efforts, fights corruption, and promotes democracy—values that the Kremlin opposes.
Russia’s wish list is being checked off. With Trump and Elon Musk effectively shutting down USAID—and a planned purge targeting the FBI, CIA, NSA, and the entire U.S. intelligence apparatus—the Kremlin’s dreams are coming true.
I’ll keep an eye and see if Russia manages to get its hands on the USAID list.
What’s Going on Between Trump and Russia?
I typically avoid amplifying Kremlin propaganda, but this time, what’s emerging from Moscow shouldn’t be ignored and needs to be documented to understand how these developments may influence future actions by the Trump regime.
Of course the right-wing disinformation/fake news liars will pick up on this insane crap. It is gold to their ears! Just give them a few more hours to do so.
The only misgivings that they will have is how on Earth didn’t they come up with this BS themselves!
