Olga, you are a very important conveyer of the truth behind the deception, deceit and prevarications of those who are really nothing but the avaricious enemy. They are dangerous, grievous monsters and you are a beacon of light. Thank you🇨🇦🌷
I can only conclude legacy media management are complicit in the kremlins coup of America. Either that or they are collectively too stupid to see the biggest story in the century.
They know. They've just made a conscious decision to look the other way. Because of their refusal to report on this they're complicit. Their silence in not reporting so much that's went on is deafening.
Excellent piece! Jane Prescott had a great article about him in March. Your work built on top of her piece. Very consistent information. Knowing DT for over 4 decades, of course, he will sell out everyone that stands in his way of getting what he wants by any means…any means…at his disposal…beginning with character assassination so he can bring along his cult…
The Trump regime has delegitimized itself in their short time in power. They don't represent the US, and any act of war or large expenditures will be blocked going forward by the courts, the Congress driven by voters, and ultimately, by mass uprising. No amount of "suggestions" by Executive Order will cause compliance with illegal orders by institutions, citizens, or citizen soldiers. Russia has accomplished nothing. other than pulling aside the veil for all to see that Trump is controlled by Putin. His followers will continue to dance as fast as they can to exert control, because they face the rest of their lives in federal prison for federal crimes; theft of government funds, and violations of too many laws to enumerate here. Nationalized persons, like the South African fascists at the heart of Trump's cabal, and foreign nationals, like Putin's kleptocrats, do not understand the heart of the American system that is, at its foundation, controlled by the people. Without the people's consensus that the government is legitimate, and based in Constitutional order, it simply does not, and cannot, exist.
Your last sentence- I’m hoping everyday this holds true!!! I’ve been a self-proclaimed patriot but now that it’s being tested by this Muskrat MAGA Regime my confidence is wavering
My favorite pick-me-ups include watching very red district Republicans yell at their representatives in town halls, reading the fun signs at Hands Off and 50501 protests, checking out the size of the crowds at the Fight Oligarchy rallies, and reading posts about what is happening behind the scenes. For example, Rick Wilson knows most of the Trump people, and demystifies the nonsensical chaos. (They're just stupid!) Notes from the Crisis tells us that DOGE is mostly just impounding (stealing) federal funds. West Point History professor tells us that military leadership despises Trump and wouldn't follow him down the street. And they swear their oath to the Constitution, not to the President. It all reminds me of what I miss most and makes me homesick when I leave my native land; the wonderful, zany, gutsy, outspoken, funny, undaunted American people who, in all their diversity, are remarkably united when it comes to preserving the Constitution and the rule of law in the land.
Olga, this is a remarkable accounting of the two Regimes and the multi-year planning & preparations for this moment in time & destruction of our democratic republic!
'the betrayal doesn’t stop with Trump. It includes every Republican leader who stays silent, who echoes Kremlin narratives, who attacks our allies, who shrugs off Russian genocide and war crimes, and who backs a man openly dismantling America’s credibility on the world stage.'
Exactly.
That betrayal of American democracy by the US fascist party (the GOP), however, extends back decades before Trump was being cultivated by the KGB as a useful idiot. As always, Trump is the cause and creator of precisely nothing, he is simply a prop, a figurehead for the fascist crowd that has festered in the US for generations.
The thread that ties Trump to the GOP's efforts to undo the rule of law and dissolve pluralistic democracy is found in the person of Roy Cohn, who was Sen. Joe McCarthy's attack dog in the 1950's:
"For a better idea of what McCarthyism actually entails, consider this passage from a 2017 article about Cohn's influence on Trump. It practically lays out, step by step, the ways that Trump's narcissism would later fuel his attempts to overturn the 2020 election:
//For author Sam Roberts, the essence of Cohn's influence on Trump was the triad: "Roy was a master of situational immorality . ... He worked with a three-dimensional strategy, which was: 1. Never settle, never surrender. 2. Counter-attack, counter-sue immediately. 3. No matter what happens, no matter how deeply into the muck you get, claim victory and never admit defeat."//..."
"Just as McCarthy defined "Communism" so broadly that it lost all meaning, opposition to "critical race theory" has very little to do with the academic approach that term actually describes — but a great deal to do with maintaining white supremacy. Salon's Chauncey DeVega has described it this way:
//For today's Republicans, Trumpists and other members of the white right, "critical race theory" is a form of political ectoplasm: It's both a liquid and a solid, something slimy and sticky which can be shaped into whatever frightening or dangerous thing suits their mood and needs in a given moment.
In this political context, "critical race theory" means both everything and nothing; it is a fetish object used to summon up centuries-old racist nightmares and fears about "scary" Black and brown people who are plotting a rebellion or uprising to undermine the (white) family, indoctrinate (white) children and attack (white) America.
By implication, if "critical race theory" and other Black and brown bogeymen are threats to (white) America, then preemptive violence is both necessary and reasonable. Moreover, multiracial democracy is seen, by definition, as incompatible with white people's safety, security and material interests.//
Martin Belderson gives me hope for Ukraine if the US would get out of the way. They are doing a lot for themselves. Russia is certainly not fighting on its own against Ukraine with help from Iran, Turkey, China, North Korea, Belarus, Venezuela and who knows who else. Cuba? Ukraine will get endless support from the Baltic states because they are always prepared for war being near Russia.
Don't know that anything will change in May, but Germany will have a government again. It has not really had one since December.
I think that many Germans would be glad if the US would leave, especially since Trump is considered so crazy. However, I have a friend teaching in a DOD school in Germany who moved her whole family here, including her Canadian husband. Another friend is here because her husband is stationed here. She is in my Political book club and I would hate to see her leave as well. The EU can and should back Ukraine. When Donald says he will pull out of Ukraine unless the deal that he wants is made, which gives all stolen land to Russia, and many of Ukraine's mineral assets to Russia and he gives them to Trump for money, that screws Ukrainians. I hope this is not made.
The military and intelligence communities are blowing up in Trump's face, because he gives affirmative action to White incompetents and other incompetents like Hegseth, Witkoff, Gabbard etc... This is the best he can do. These people are babes-in-the-woods with both Putin and Zelenskyy. The adults running other countries are trying to calm down the crazed toddler running the USA. I assume those who just left the Pentagon will be writing tell all books.
John Ullyot will be making double bank with a op ed in Politico and then if he compiles the columns into a tell all book with the focus on the danger to US national security. I think Trump is going to be occupied with that more and more. It he is not going to handle it well, because he handles nothing well except grifting from people who like to bend the knee to him.
Thank you for this post this kind of tied something together for me!! My mom and I have been debating the validity of the Mar-a-Largo Accord and this all makes sense now. I believe Trump wants to weaken US influence so we can turn more isolationist but she doesn’t believe in the Accord because, to her logic, Trump wants a powerful USA and diminishing our global financial hegemony wouldn’t make sense… but now it makes sense!! Trump Tower is making a comeback and he wants it at the cost of weakening the US for papa Putin!
I believe that happened years ago. And the payoff has happened in the takedown of the USA. The operative has served his purpose. Putin will displace him any day

It’s good to hear though that West Point is saying this, that is actually very reassuring!!!
Appreciate your knowledge and perspective!
Trump’s latest gift to Putin--end war crimes accountability:

I find myself crying for Ukraine, especially in the mornings after the usual nighttime attack.

Thank you for your investigative reporting.

MoscoLardo has a nice ring to it. Maybe he’ll fly there and leave the country.

And he is going to the Pope's funeral too?
He is looking poorly, again. Out of remission?
