I couldn’t read all of it because this president nauseates me to no end. And the disappointment this last election had affected me. I did no realize how gullible our country has become from all the internet influence

I am with you and enraged and disgusted. I still have hope that the majority will wake up to Trump’s traitorous behavior domestically and abroad.

The Purge of 2025 is on.

Suddenly “warped speed” means headlong into a brick wall.

“Gallows humor” is all that remains of our humanity. We used to say “laugh all the way to the bank”; now we’re crying all the way to the cesspool!

Thanks for the comment but we had a majority in 2020 he didn’t change in fact he was convicted of 34 indictments. That is some of the independents being conned who voted for Biden in 2020. And I don’t want to give up hope but some poles show about 70% who ever they poled are happy with him. I glad that I eighty years old and may not have witness it much longer. But I will survive as long as I have to.

Trump is doing the job Putin installed him to do.

Both Trump and Musk have business instincts as sharp as bowling balls, but have been propped up by- literally- their sugar daddies, with proceeds flowing from criminal activity. Both fail repeatedly, then spout off nonsensically, only to prance around declaring themselves geniuses (and met with the approval of sycophants more deluded and corrupt then they are, which is saying something). Neither could negotiate their own way out of a portable toilet.

They are perfect useful idiots for Putin and MBS, precisely because of their insatiable egos, utter lack of morality, and unfathomable ignorance of the world .

If there is a slim hope for democracy here and in Europe (and it is slim), it is that Ukraine breaks Russia militarily and economically, which Ukraine is increasingly showing the capacity and the willingness to accomplish.

If Putin's criminal empire collapses, Trump and Musk will flounder and fold. Even then, the US will have been damaged socially and economically to such an extent it will take decades to fully recover.

The US is not going to fully recover. It may regain first world status after Trump and Musk turn it into a third world Christian Nationalist Theocracy, but it will never be a world power again after Trump destroyed our intelligence community and our military which cannot be the world leading military with Trump destroying the economy and putting nothing but yes men into jobs.

We were discussing today that Trump wants a Nobel Peace Prize and Putin wants to use March 9 as the day of the end of the war. So, I read today that one of Trump's negotiators is telling that Trump is super impatient for this to happen because he does not want to miss out the time frame for being nominated for a Nobel. He is generally very impatient with everything and wants it to be one and done. People need to learn to manipulate him better knowing this.

Past time to deal with all of these thugs the old fashioned way.

Trump is a full blown Kremlin asset. His ties to the Russian maffia, his character flaws, his horrible political "convictions" etc. make his return to power a nightmare. We must resist. As a European former pacifist it pains me to accept the need for (re)arming ourselves. The military industrial complex will cheer.

We are pounding the same podium.

I have read hundreds of posts and comments that are in line with the awakening to the despicable duplicity and fascism that spews from the Trump/Vance/Musk regime daily. I’m hoping the energy apparent in these posts can be channeled into effective defiance and the elimination of Trumps growing lock on power he will abuse. As the midterm elections approach, careful watch must be maintained on the election process to make sure that the insurrectionist-in-chief does not corrupt it to the extent that the United States more closely resembles Hungary and Belarus.

One could argue that Europe stepping up to defend Ukraine is Trump’s objective. A united Europe with an EU army could easily become a peer to Russia, especially with battle-hardened Ukrainians on the front line.

Apart from the (urgent!) need for Europe to get it's act together, I very much doubt that is Trump's objective. I suspect other, much darker motives. One being the pettiness of the man, his vindictive drive to punish Zelensky for not bowing to him in providing "dirt" on Biden in the infamous "perfect phonecall". Another obviously because T. is a Russian stooge.

I have concerns about Trump’s relationship with the Putin oligarchy, but his animus toward Europe makes sense from multiple standpoints. They disrespected and ostracized him very severely during his first term which in retrospect was extremely ill-advised diplomacy. Ideologically, he is diametrically opposed to the EU and the UK. Furthermore, he’s totally focused on American business interests and perceives Europe as hostile to them even though they rely on us for defense.

Given his worldview, the EU and NATO would be foolhardy to rely on the US. He sees them as a liability, not an asset.

Alongside this Trump-Putin alliance and its history, I would be interested in learning how Marco Rubio, who had been vehemently anti-Trump and equally anti-Russia, based on his Cuban heritage, became vehemently pro Putin. What happened?

Very well said. But you shouldn’t be mocking people with TDS. This will only make their condition worse, as evidenced by many of the replies. Very sad so many are still yearning for Orwell’s 1984.
