I remember the story of a female mayor of some town near Kiev in the early days of the invasion. The invading Russians not only executed her, but also killed her son and husband. The unspeakable cruelty of it! How can we Americans allow ourselves to forget such recent events?
Like so many other Ukrainian civilian leaders, when the invaders reached her town, she stayed at her post. She sent out warnings to her people. She organized evacuation convoys to try to get others to safety, and deliveries of food and medicine to those who could not get out. She lasted 25 days before she was caught by Russian soldiers.
Ukrainian war-crimes investigators say Olga and her husband Igor were tortured. Late in the day, her son Oleksandr was captured separately, and all three were then murdered and thrown in a pit.

Trump is obviously compromised by Putin. Trump seems to be a Russian asset. He is a DANGER to our country and MUST BE REMOVED FROM OFFICE! He lied to the American people. They voted for lower prices not a dictatorship. He is making our country defenseless with his choices for his cabinet.
The horrible evil of the world has been plenty remarked on since the beginning of remarks. But after 1945 it has been markedly less so for a significant portion of the world -- a first in human existence. Today it is returning, methodically and deliberately, to full-bore horrible evil again. And clearly we are going to allow that to continue.
So: why the post-1945 improvement, and why have we decided to call that off recently to go back to the dark chaos of endless violence and warlordism? This is the only issue.

I thought that because it won 20% of the vote that it would hold a fairly large seat in the (Parliament? not sure what the Germans would call it). If not, then that's great news!

What are your thoughts about the new conservative + far-right regime in Germany, and how that will affect Ukraine? I am very worried about that.
