Europe HAS to step up and treat us like the enemy we are. I didn’t vote for this fascism, but I’m sure willing to take it on the chin if Europe does what it needs to do. Boycott and sanction us into poverty … if it saves the nation. I consider it tough love. And I consider it my patriotic duty to support our European friends. We so desperately need them to stay strong and to stay on the correct side.

While I have not been watching the Munich Security Conference, friends have been updating me who are watching it, so I heard about Vance's speech and Pistorius'. I am here in Germany so of course I have been preparing for this US switch to alignment with Russia against Europe. It is frustrating to me that so many Germans are pro Russia, some since the 60s when they embraced being left although they lived in the west and the DDR and Soviet Union were romanticized. Then, I have a Ukrainian friend who felt herself to be Russian due to a childhood where Russian language was used in schools. She even did simultaneous translating for Gorbachev when he was in Chicago. That is the effect of Russian colonization of other countries.

Now we see that Project 2025 is coming alive, although it lists Russia and China as enemies, clearly that is not how Trump feels. He is not doing foreign policy as a Christian Nationalist, but as an autocrat.

Wondering where this will lead for the US, where most of my family is, including my ailing, aged mother. I cannot hear another European politician say how they must have the US in order to do anything. I would send roses to the first European politician who says, we can do this on our own. Protecting Ukraine is protecting us. Neither Scholz or Merz is the kind of leader that can stand up to Trump and lead Europe. Who that person is, is not on the table to lead.

In the US AOC should be leading the Democratic party. She gets it, in ways that the leadership does not. She gets how to stand up to Bully White boys. So does Jasmine Crockett. Let them lead please. We might salvage something.

Our little civil war cosplayer JD really showed his true colors today. He's one of the most odious politicians this country has ever produced - and we've had some real losers not least of whom his boss. I have no idea how this ends but it sure seems very, very dangerous. It's up to Germany to put an end to this nonsense in their upcoming elections but given our own recent experience I don't have very high hopes - the world seems to have lost both its collective mind and soul..

I am so sorry for Ukraine and its people. I hope EU steps up to assist.

"Under Trump, the U.S. is, at best, an unreliable ally and, at worst, a direct threat to European security". Actually, let's say the more accurate part out loud, Under Trump, the U.S. is a direct threat to European security. Full stop! In the wake of all of what has occurred, if I were one of these European countries I would not consider the U.S. under Trump an ally in any way shape or form, better to cut to the chase in their thinking, behavior and actions than to pretend it to be anything other than what it really is. As the paragraph below spells out quite succinctly.

"Europe must stop wasting valuable time and help Ukraine defeat Russia before Russian tanks roll across more European cities, and start preparing for a new reality in which, for the first time since World War II, the U.S. no longer cares about or will guarantee European security."

You are only outmaneuvered, if the entity that did the out maneuvering is an opponent. So far, there is no evidence to suggest that Trump and Putin, with whom he has “a great relationship” are opponents at all. Between the lies, duplicity and his irrational announcements spewing daily, especially setting the tone right off with the pardoning of the J6 rioters as patriots, every indication is that Trump is in a much better position to inflict far more damage to the West and democracy than Putin is. I can only hope that he and his gang of useful idiots stumble badly leading up to the 2026 midterms. But, that will be too late for Ukraine and Europe today.

My theory: Trump is a Putin wannabe. How he would like to have Putin’s power.

This is just so horrible. Trump , Putins lap dog have thrown the brave Ukrainians under the bus. And Vance linking himself to European far right groups as Musk is already a far right puppet is hard to put into words

I’ve been hearing this all day. No doubt about it, Trump’s in bed with Russia. Next he’ll demand Google change the USA name to Russia 2.0😡

J.D. Vance just stood on the world stage and told Germany to embrace the far-right. Trump is reshaping American foreign policy in real time. This article breaks down how the U.S. is abandoning its democratic commitments—and what that means for the world.

Would love to hear your thoughts when you have a minute.

My goodness after all his bankruptcies and lawsuits. The press is just looking at how he got a bad deal. Will he sue them for this and get millions again. Or will the main press follow suit and finally grow a spine.
